Anhui Newbase Serves as Strategic Connector in Yangtze River Delta Integration Drive

2025 12/05

As China's ambitious Yangtze River Delta (YRD) integration strategy accelerates, a key facilitator is emerging not from the coastal financial hubs, but from within the region itself. Anhui Newbase, a prominent local investment and industrial services group, is strategically positioning itself as a vital "connectivity bridge," channeling advanced resources into Anhui and propelling local enterprises onto the wider regional stage.

The national YRD integration plan aims to create a world-class city cluster, with Anhui playing a crucial role in providing industrial depth and space. Newbase's operations are providing the granular, business-level linkages that turn high-level policy into tangible economic growth. "Integration isn't just about infrastructure; it's about the seamless flow of capital, technology, and market opportunities," says Mr. Li Feng, Chairman of Anhui Newbase. "Our role is to be the trusted interface that understands both Anhui's needs and the YRD's offerings."

Channeling Advanced Resources Inland

A core focus has been acting as a conduit for cutting-edge technology and managerial expertise from Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. Last year, Newbase facilitated the establishment of a joint R&D center in Hefei between a leading Zhejiang-based artificial intelligence firm and a local automotive component manufacturer. This partnership, brokered and partly funded by Newbase, is developing next-generation smart driving systems, directly upgrading Anhui's manufacturing capabilities.

"Without a local partner who deeply understands the landscape and can de-risk the process, setting up this center would have been far more challenging and slow," noted the CEO of the Zhejiang AI company. "Newbase provided the crucial connectivity."

Launching Anhui Enterprises onto the Regional Stage

Conversely, Newbase is actively building "outbound bridges" for ambitious Anhui companies. By leveraging its network across the YRD, it helps local firms in sectors like advanced materials and precision agriculture access new markets, find strategic partners, and attract follow-on investment from coastal capital.

A notable success case is "GreenRoot Agri-Tech," an Anhui-based smart farming startup. With Newbase's introduction and support, GreenRoot secured a pilot project with a major Shanghai municipal agricultural park and later received series B funding from a Suzhou-based venture fund. "They didn't just write a check; they opened doors we couldn't knock on ourselves," said GreenRoot's founder.

Building the Ecosystem for Synergy

Beyond individual deals, Newbase invests in the soft infrastructure of integration. It regularly co-hosts industry summits and executive exchanges that bring together policymakers, entrepreneurs, and investors from across the delta. These forums are designed to identify complementary strengths and forge the collaborative partnerships that define a truly integrated economic zone.

"True integration is mutual benefit," concludes Chairman Li. "Our mission is to ensure Anhui is not just a participant but a vital and upgraded contributor to the YRD ecosystem. By connecting the dots, we are helping to write the next chapter of regional development—one partnership at a time."

Anhui Newbase's model demonstrates how regional integration is being powered not only by top-down planning but also by agile, market-savvy institutions that build the essential connections for shared prosperity.
